Heavenly Father, I thank You for bringing me through the lessons I have already studied. Thank You for Your Word and for the opportunity to grow in understanding.

As I begin this new topic, please give me the grace to understand how You communicated Your Word through human authors. Help me to read the Scriptures carefully, recognize the context of each passage, and understand what You have revealed through Your Word.

Guide my thoughts and give me wisdom as I study. Help me to value Your Word, handle it faithfully, and grow in my understanding of the truth.

In Jesus Christ’s name, Amen.
