Heavenly Father,

Thank You for helping me learn through the previous lessons. Thank You for Your Word and for giving me the opportunity to grow in understanding.

As I begin this new topic, please give me wisdom, patience, and understanding. Help me recognise the different types of writing in the Bible and understand each passage according to its context and purpose.

Teach me not to depend on my own assumptions, but to examine Your Word carefully. Help me distinguish between literal statements, figurative language, parables, prophecy, instructions, and promises.

May Your Word guide my understanding and help me grow in truth. In Jesus Christ’s name, Amen.
