Series 2: Church Practices and Traditions — Discussion 14
Bible Scripture (KJV)
Luke 6:12 (KJV): “And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.”
Matthew 6:8 (KJV): “Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.”
Let us discuss:
Jesus sometimes prayed all night. Does this mean every Christian must do the same? Does spending many hours in prayer automatically make a prayer more effective? How can we follow biblical examples of prayer without turning them into requirements for every believer?
Let us consider the context of these Scriptures and discuss whether praying through the night is a personal choice, a specific calling, or a requirement for all Christians.
