Series 2: Church Practices and Traditions — Discussion 27
Bible Scripture (KJV)
Matthew 5:44 (KJV): “But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;”
Romans 12:14 (KJV): “Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.”
Let us discuss:
How should Christians pray when someone mistreats, opposes, or persecutes them? Does the Bible instruct believers to ask God to destroy their enemies, or to pray for those who persecute them? How can Christians seek God’s justice without responding with hatred or a desire for personal revenge?
Let us examine these Scriptures in context and share our understanding respectfully.
