Series 2: Church Practices and Traditions — Discussion 31
Bible Scripture (KJV)
1 Thessalonians 5:20–21 (KJV): “Despise not prophesyings. Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.”
1 John 4:1 (KJV): “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.”
Let us discuss:
Should Christians automatically obey every instruction given by someone claiming to speak prophetically? How does the Bible instruct believers to test prophetic messages? What should a Christian do when a prophetic instruction contradicts Scripture or creates fear and pressure?
Let us examine the Scriptures in context and remember that every spiritual claim should be tested against God’s Word.
