Series 2: Church Practices and Traditions — Discussion 40

      Bible Scripture (KJV)

Ephesians 2:8–9 (KJV): “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

1 Corinthians 12:30 (KJV): “Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?”

      Let us discuss:

Does the Bible teach that speaking in tongues is a requirement for salvation? If salvation is by grace through faith, what place do spiritual gifts have in a believer’s salvation? What does Paul’s question, “do all speak with tongues?” teach us about the distribution of spiritual gifts?

Let us examine these passages in context and share our understanding respectfully, allowing God’s Word to guide our discussion.
