Series 2: Church Practices and Traditions — Discussion 41

      Bible Scripture (KJV)

1 Corinthians 14:40 (KJV): “Let all things be done decently and in order.”

John 4:24 (KJV): “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”

      Let us discuss:

Does the Bible teach that falling down during prayer is a requirement for receiving God’s power? What is the difference between a person’s genuine physical response during prayer and treating falling down as proof of a spiritual experience? How should Christians evaluate claims that someone must fall down to show that the Holy Spirit is working?

Let us examine Scripture in context and discuss respectfully, without judging people’s experiences or assuming that a physical reaction proves or disproves God’s work.
