The Holy Spirit plays an important role in the life of every believer. But many Christians have questions about whether the Holy Spirit remains in a believer permanently or can leave because of sin or disobedience.
Ephesians 1:13–14 (KJV)
“In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.”
Let us discuss:
According to these verses, what happens when a person believes the gospel and trusts in Christ? What does it mean to be sealed with the Holy Spirit? Is there a difference between the Holy Spirit dwelling permanently in a believer and a believer walking in fellowship and obedience to God?
