Series 2: Church Practices and Traditions — Discussion 23

      Bible Scripture (KJV)

Galatians 3:13 (KJV): “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:”

2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV): “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

      Let us discuss:

Does the Bible teach that a believer in Christ must continually pray to break family curses? What does Christ’s redemption from the curse of the law mean for those who are in Him? How should Christians understand the influence of family history without living in fear that their ancestors’ sins automatically determine their standing before God?

Let us examine these Scriptures in context and share our understanding respectfully, allowing God’s Word to guide our discussion.
