Series 2: Church Practices and Traditions — Discussion 22

      Bible Scripture (KJV)

Philippians 4:6 (KJV): “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”

Matthew 6:9 (KJV): “After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.”

      Let us discuss:

Does the Bible require Christians to follow prepared prayer points when praying? Can written prayer guides help believers, and when might they become a religious routine rather than sincere communication with God? Should Christians feel that their prayers are ineffective if they do not follow a particular list of prayer points?

Let us examine the Scriptures in context and discuss respectfully. The question is not whether prayer guides can be helpful, but whether they are a requirement for every believer.
