Series 2: Church Practices and Traditions — Discussion 18

      Bible Scripture (KJV)

Numbers 23:19 (KJV): “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?”

James 5:16 (KJV): “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”

      Let us discuss:

Does prayer change God’s plans, or can God use prayer as part of accomplishing His purposes? How should we understand Bible passages where God appears to respond differently after people pray? If God already knows everything, why does He invite us to pray?

Let us examine the Scriptures in context and share our understanding respectfully.
